1. Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria, has been in office since 2015. Buhari won the 2015 general elections, defeating incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan. This marked the first time in Nigeria that an incumbent president lost to an opposition candidate in a general election.
Buhari’s reign so far has not been smooth, with many claiming he has made Nigeria worse than he met it when he was elected. This has led to several people craving for another person to take the reins come 2019. This has now led to PDP presidential candidate for the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, coming into the picture.
2. Atiku Abubakar
Atiku Abubakar is a Nigerian politician and business tycoon. He was Vice-President of Nigeria (1999-2007) under President Olusegun Obasanjo representing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). His second term as Vice-President was marked by a stormy relationship with then President, Olusegun Obasanjo. But in a bid to swing the pendulum of power back to PDP, Obasanjo and Atiku have settled their differences, with the former publicly endorsing the latter for the presidency.
Presently, the Nigeria political atmosphere is bubbling with the Buhari-Atiku battle in the coming presidential election. We know the power of choosing the next President rests with the masses.
So, between Buhari and Atiku,
